Dr. Snyder is a certified meditation instructor, in the Shambhala tradition of meditation. She is the past director of Shambhala Gainesville, a meditation center located at 1899 NE 23rd Avenue in Gainesville, FL. Dr. Snyder teaches meditation and ongoing classes at the center, on topics such as how one brings meditation and aspects of mindfulness and awareness into everyday life. Dr. Snyder is also a member of the University of Florida Mindfulness Team, where she lectures as part of the yearly UF Mindfulness Day, and offers workshops throughout the year. Dr. Snyder has lectured on a variety of topics, such as working with fear, the development of lovingkindness meditation, how to have a mindful political discussion, and how to start a meditation practice. Dr. Snyder enjoys working with students and faculty in their university setting.
Finally, Dr. Snyder employs techniques of meditation and mindfulness at the request of her patients. Dr. Snyder has offered lectures and workshops on mindfulness and meditation at workshops offered by the North Central Florida Psychological Association, and is available to consult with colleagues upon request.
